Not every child is lucky enough to grow up in a linguistically stimulating environment. However, this is an important prerequisite for becoming a competent reader and later being able to realise their potential in the workplace and society. The SIKJM is the national competence centre for children’s and young people’s literature and reading promotion. They combine practical experience with the latest research findings and develop programmes that give children and young people enjoyable access to language and literature.
In collaboration with the Bern-based agency Bonsma & Reist, I developed the extensive website based on WordPress. A large selection of components and templates provide the necessary flexibility to create the extensive content individually and still within the design system. A review database of over 3400 books for children and young people with a variety of filters is the centrepiece of the platform.
