Roman Buxbaum (*1956 in Prague) is an artist, psychiatrist, and collector who lives between Zurich and Prague. In his work, he combines the perception of form and function with an inquisitive eye for the everyday — from installations made of the consumer objects of an affluent society to more recent wood paintings, in which he follows the grain of the material and discovers figures, landscapes, and entire universes within it. Closely connected to Art Brut, he is also known as a long-standing patron of the photographer Miroslav Tichý and founder of the «tichyocean» foundation.
In collaboration with Atlas Studio, I developed the artist’s new website. His extensive body of work can be explored through several views, offering access to his pieces via autoplay galleries as well as sliders. The website is bilingual and built on the WordPress CMS.
