After studying architecture at ETH Zurich, Jan Kinsbergen initially worked under Professor Hans Kollhoff. In 1993, his career took him to New York City. There he was employed by the architecture firm Steven Holl until 1999. He then set up his own architectural practice, also in New York. During this time, Jan Kinsbergen taught architecture as a visiting scholar at Columbia GSAPP University in New York and was a faculty member at ETH Zurich from 2002 to 2008. Since 2002, he has headed the Jan Kinsbergen Architekt office in Zurich, Switzerland.
In collaboration with the Zurich graphic designer Aline Ozkan, I developed Jan Kinsbergen’s website. With a minimalist concept, the focus was on the details, such as an intelligent loading and unloading function for images and videos, scalable typography and optimised presentation of content on all screen sizes. Based on WordPress, Jan can integrate, edit and sort images and Vimeo videos via the backend.
